Help save Giant Sequoia in Corbett Heights

Dear Members:

CHN has been working since early this year to have a 50 plus year-old giant sequoia in our neighborhood designated as a Landmark Tree. This tree rises majestically mid block in the block bounded by Market, Corbett, Hattie and Danvers. Supervisor Wiener has assisted us by nominating the tree for consideration but it must be approved by a city advisory committee and then the full Board of Supervisors.

The most critical hearing takes place this Friday before the Urban Forestry Council. It is very important to have substantial number of neighbors show up if this is to pass. Due in part to the early hour in the morning, we do not yet have enough persons.

If any of you can come down for an hour or so, we need you! You do not need to speak; just be present. If you can attend let us know so that we can keep you informed of any last minute changes. If you would like a ride also let us know. Thank you!

The details are:

MAY 23, 2014, 8:30 AM, CITY HALL, ROOM 400, URBAN FORESTRY COUNCIL.
