This June, in addition to voting in the Presidential primary we will have a chance to vote for our choice for a new State Senator to replace Mark Leno who is termed out. The 2 likeliest candidates are Scott Wiener, Supervisor of our District - 8, and Jane Kim, Supervisor of District 6. Scott spoke with us at our last meeting in January.
Supervisor Kim will be speaking with us at our next meeting on April 28th.
If you'd like for me to ask her specific questions about what she's done or hopes to accomplish, you can send them to me. But you also will have an opportunity to ask any questions of her yourself.
In addition, the project sponsors of the Roosevelt/17th Street/Upper Terrace project will have a more flushed out plan for us to view and ask questions about. They've been working with the Planning Dept which has requested that several revisions be made.
The plan still is still considerably larger than what is considered acceptable as specified in the Interim Zoning Controls.
The project is very likely the largest our neighborhood has experienced in many decades, so your input is very important.
Thanks! And hope to see you on the 28th.
(I'll send out notices later on, but in case you haven't been to one of our meetings, we meet above the BofA on Castro/18th Sts. 2nd floor - thru the glass doors next to the ATMs. The meeting starts at 7 and goes thru at least 8:30.)
