It has been a tumultuous year in Corbett Heights with a flurry of confusing messages.
I will not burden you with the details of what happened and who did what. Those of you who know me are familiar with my integrity and my work on behalf of our neighborhood.
There are now two distinct neighborhood associations serving the Corbett Heights area.
In brief summary:
The original Corbett Heights Neighbors (CHN), which I founded in 2004, will continue under new leadership, doing as it wishes. While I disagree with many of its leaders' actions, I wish them well.
I and a substantial number of neighbors and previous members have now formed a new organization: Corbett Heights Neighborhood Association (CHNA). The website remains www.corbettheights.org, where you can join or renew by using the PayPal link on the website. There is no need to unsubscribe if you would like to continue your previous membership. Many thanks to those of you who have recently joined.
The boundaries of CHNA remain the same as before.
CHNA will continue to focus on matters where I can be most effective for our neighborhood: 1) preventing developers who, in their attempts to demolish existing homes in Corbett Heights, replace them with oversized ones; 2) maintaining green spaces that keep our neighborhood uniquely beautiful; and 3) providing interesting and important speakers for our quarterly meetings.
Our contact information is the same: firstname.lastname@example.org for general inquiries. You can also use email@example.com to email me directly. If you have questions about anything related to Corbett Heights, or need help with any development issue please don't hesitate to write.
Quarterly general meetings will be on the 3rd Monday of January, April, July and October.
Our next meeting will be on: Monday, July 15th, 7:00 – 8:30PM. 501 Castro Street, 2nd Floor, above the BofA on Castro/18th Sts.Stairs & elevator to the right.
Supervisor Rafael Mandelman will be joining us. Other speaker(s) are pending. I'm especially gratified to inform you that the Supervisor will be honoring me with a commendation before the Board of Supervisors on July 30th for work I've done on behalf of Corbett Heights and the District over the past 15 years.
Thanks to all of you for the support you've offered – especially during the last year. We will need your help! If any of you is able to help in any way: distributing fliers ahead of the July meeting, or helping plan garden cleanup days in any of our green spaces please let me know!
